5 Reasons you should start a blog
Should YOU start a blog?
Do you think blogging is a thing of the past? Are you worried that all the other visual apps like Instagram and Tik-Tok have taken over?
Recently I’ve gotten so many questions from my community asking
“Is blogging profitable” or “Do I seriously need a blog for my business?”
That brings me to creating this blog. If you’re looking for a quick and simple answer then it’s a definite YES to both those questions.
If creating a blog has been on your mind then I’m going to give you…
5 reasons as to why you SHOULD start a blog in 2020.
You are your own “boss”
Like most things, before we start something we research it. We start reading blogs about blogging, how to blog-blogs, 5 steps to take when blogging. You can read about it as much as we like, but at the end of the day, YOU will do what you think is best.
We get so caught up in everyone else’s blogs and how they write when actually your blog needs to focus on your unique voice. You don’t have to compare your blog writing to anyone else’s, because that’s what makes your blog different from others.
By all that I don’t mean that we can’t read and admire other blogs, because blogging does take a lot of research. The thing that will make your blog unique is how you put all the research into your own words and structure it to make it yours.
And guess what? You’re the boss and you get to call all your own shots.
You choose who you’re writing for
The saying goes, “If you write to everyone, you end up writing to no one”. This is why it’s important to find your niche as soon as possible.
The nice thing about blogging is that you get to decide on your niche and who you want to attract and write your blogs for. This also means that you can decide on things that you want to write about, things that you’re interested in, and things that you want people to value from your posts.
Niching down can take a while, you need to find out what your readers like and who they are. When you realize who your niche is you can easily write posts that will be of value to them. This will help grow your blog. A big tip is to write for people who are similar to you. This way, your content is more authentic, and you’ll love the things that you write about.
You decide on your time-table
This falls back on being your own boss. Your blog is all about you. How well your blog does, how much effort goes into your blog, when you write your blog, and how quickly you grow your blog all depends on YOU!
You are totally in charge of when you want to write. If you’re a night person then nothing stops you from only writing after hours with a glass of wine. If you’re a morning person and prefer writing over your first cup of coffee, then that’s when you will write.
You decide on what time works best for you. That’s why blogging can be done as a side job. Something you can do in your free time if you like.
You can have a full-time job and still find time to write a blog, but let’s be honest, I know you want to turn it into a full-time gig, and that’s totally possible!

You don’t need to be an extrovert to start a blog
Unlike Youtube, Instagram, and Tik Tok blogging requires no comfort in front of the camera. Blogging gives you an opportunity to raise your opinion and share your thoughts with the world while hiding from it.
There is no need for any socializing when writing your blog, you don’t have to do your hair or even get out of bed for that matter. It’s all about your words and how you put them together that give value to the reader. At first, you don’t even have to tell people that you’re the one behind the master blogs.
I have found that blog writing can boost your confidence and maybe even give you the motivation to share yourself with the world.
Pinterest is a must
You either hate Pinterest or you love it. I absolutely love pinning pins to my board and finding pins that I like. I also find it rewarding to see my pins get views and shares. But then sometimes I have no clue why my monthly views drop drastically, that’s when I become demotivated. I start to question everything about my pins, is it the wording, the colors, or the image I used. I start changing the pin design up and finding what people find appealing. So basically all I’m trying to say is that things are always changing and you need to stay up to date.
The reason why you should have Pinterest for your blog or business is for the pure fact that IT DRIVES TRAFFIC.
Pinterest allows your blog to grow faster, it’s a visual platform that drives people to your written platform.
